Our mission is to provide practicing K-12 teachers access to key peer-reviewed insights from social studies research written by the researchers who conducted it. Our commitment is that every article published in ASSERT will remain free to all, in perpetuity. Each article in our journal will be published in full, providing a brief summary of the author's scholarly research, their findings, while emphasizing the practical implications for teachers' professional practice and student learning. A companion Q & A, in which the author(s) respond to teacher-generated questions, will accompany each publication. It is our hope that this resource is just what you need to take your teaching to the next level!
https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/2 Controversial Decisions Within Teaching Controversial Issues 2020-06-16T12:13:18-06:00 Wayne Journell awjourne@uncg.edu
none
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Wayne Journell https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/7 Q & A with Wayne Journell on “Controversial Decisions Within Teaching Controversial Issues” 2020-09-24T12:09:10-06:00 Wayne Journell awjourne@uncg.edu 2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Wayne Journell https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/5 Increasing Inclusion and Recognition in Education for Democracy 2020-06-15T11:22:12-06:00 Steven Camicia steven.camicia@usu.edu
none
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Steven Camicia https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/8 Q & A with Steven Camicia on “Increasing Inclusion and Recognition in Education for Democracy” 2020-09-24T13:09:53-06:00 Steven Camicia steven.camicia@usu.edu 2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Steven Camicia https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/1 Professional Judgment and Deciding What to Teach as Controversial 2020-06-17T10:16:18-06:00 Paula McAvoy pmcavoy@ncsu.edu Li-Ching Ho liching.ho@wisc.edu
None
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Paula McAvoy & Li-Ching Ho https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/9 Q & A with Paula McAvoy & Li-Ching Ho on “Professional Judgment and Deciding What to Teach as Controversial” 2020-09-24T15:54:15-06:00 Paula McAvoy pmcavoy@ncsu.edu Li-Ching Ho liching.ho@wisc.edu
none
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Paula McAvoy & Li-Ching-Ho https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/11 Teacher Political Disclosure in the Trump Era 2020-09-24T18:12:17-06:00 Rebecca Cooper Geller rebeccagenevra@gmail.com
none
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Rebecca Cooper Geller https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/10 Q & A with Rebecca Cooper Geller on: “Teacher Political Disclosure in the Trump Era” 2020-09-24T18:01:24-06:00 Rebecca Cooper Geller rebeccagenevra@gmail.com
none
2020-09-24T00:00:00-06:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Rebecca Cooper Geller https://assertjournal.com/index.php/assert/article/view/3 Identity, Discourse, and Safety in Controversial Issue Discussions 2020-06-15T16:48:05-06:00 Terence A.
