Call for Submissions: Rural Social Studies
We would like to invite you to submit a unique article that summarizes and extends your research and scholarship on Rural Social Studies.
Special Issue Editor: Casey Thomas Jakubowski, PhD; University of Maryland, Eastern Shore
Guidance: Teaching in rural education, especially social studies, has emerged as a “battle ground” for many practitioners and scholars. The list of areas of research, which are not exhaustive includes:
- Demographics of teachers
- Community leadership and curriculum
- Supervisor understanding of social studies
- State level curriculum and standards debates
- Incorporating underrepresented voices
- The lack of social studies in many places
- International understandings of social studies, especially in rural areas
- Other topics as submitted
